RATIONAL USE OF DRUGS - NEED OF THE HOUR
Abstract
Irrational use of allopathic medicines is an age old problem. It is more common in developing and third world countries where there is either no regulation or weak monitoring of the health system. The medicines may be overused, underused or misused by the dispenser or the consumer. This results in wastage of scarce resources. The paper discusses about the strategies for rational use of drugs in order to be effective and efficient in taking care of the patient.
