DATA MINING BASED KNN-CLASSIFICATION ON CRIME ANALYSIS

P. Tamilselvan, G. Ravishankar

Abstract

It is the progression of using the facts from past crimes in order to predict the date, time, and place of the forthcoming crimes. Criminology is the methodical study of crime and it aims to identify the crime decorations and crime physiognomies. It is a crucial field where the solicitation of data mining techniques can produce significant results. Data mining can be used to model the problems in crime detection. The methods such as clustering and classification used to extract new decorations of crime data. This paper provides a new algorithm for KNN by using the weighted approach. The Exponential Smoothing really enlarged the accuracy and condensed the error of the forecasting model by eliminating the noise in the data.
