A STUDY ON WORK LIFE BALANCE OF WOMEN DOMESTIC WORKERS IN INDIA

Abstract


Work-life balance refers to the level of prioritization between personal and professional activities in an individual’s life and the level to which activities related to their job are present in the home. Pressure is a common feature of a poor work-life balance. This research focuses on the hardships and issues of women household workers such as minimum principles of decent work live in and live out arrangements, income, leaves and societal safety and also their imbalanced situation as a home maker in the family. Women domestic workers, who are not recognized as workers, face a number of abusive treatments, sexual harassment, discrimination and unfair working conditions. This paper finds out some of the problems in the working place and domestic violence, stress and difficulty in the family.
