Currency Denomination Structure and Cash Payment Efficiency: An Indian Perspective

This paper empirically analyses the efficiency of currency denomination structure in India using D-Metric Model, Cramer's Model considering the GDP, income level and principle of least effort and number of efficient payment methods. Consequently, possible denomination structure that can be adopted in India is also proposed.
