A STUDY ON PASSENGER SATISFACTION TOWARDS SOUTHERN RAILWAY SERVICES WITH SPECIAL REFERENCE TO TRICHIRAPPALLI CITY

Abstract


Transport is essential for the economic development. Economic growth has always been dependent on the increasing capacity and rationality of transport. Railways are absolutely suitable for long distance travel and movement of bulk commodities. Southern railway is one of the best zones in Indian railways. The researcher’s area of study is being conducted in Trichirappalli city. A source of data is adopted on primary data collection among 200 respondents. The sampling model design adopted in this study is random sampling techniques. Statistical tools used are percentage analysis and average ranking analysis. Overall study deals about the service quality and passenger satisfaction offered by southern railways. The researcher finally focuses on the insights to0 develop and improve the quality of services to satisfy the passenger to travel in train.
