USAGE OF MOBILE BANKING SERVICES AMONG THE CUSTOMERS OF STATE BANK OF INDIA IN TIRUVERAMBUR BRANCH

Abstract
Mobile Banking is relatively a new concept of banking which aims at providing financial services to all sections of people in an effective and friendly manner so as to reach unbanked rural population cost effectively but at par with the well-established Institutions. The presence of many viable competitors covering possibly even remote and far-flung areas is an additional opening for Mobile banking services in India. Like every new technology this too has to overcome hurdles and especially with more illiterate and poverty stricken population mainly far away from their well-connected counter parts the challenges are more and wide from adoption to successful implementation of mobile technology. The study focuses on the barriers in accessing the Mobile banking services by the respondents while availing services such as Bill payment, Fund transfer etc., and suggestions for addressing the weaknesses.
