TOURIST PREFERENCE TOWARDS HOTEL INDUSTRY IN TIRUCHIRAPPALLI CITY

Abstract


Hotel Industry means the producing of the hotels did not produce at all, but renders services. The Hotel Industry is to satisfy the demand for accommodation, all basic amenities for the customers. The hotels and catering industry is an important part of the tourist infrastructure. A hotel is the essential destination to facilities that the country must provide, if it wishes to build up to tourism. In the promotion of tourism, a very vital sector is the hotel industry acting more or less as the kingpin. The hotel is an enterprise for the production of goods and service, intended to be sold for the profit to recompense the administration and the capital involved. Thus, this paper analyzes the tourist preference towards the hotel industry in Tiruchirappalli city. Data was collected from 100 respondents and simple random sampling had been used for the study. The findings of the study are 40 per cent of the respondents are belonging to the age group between 20-30 years, most of the respondents are male. Therefore the respondents’ choice of hotel was hotel Sangam and P.L.A. Krishna Inn.
