A STUDY ON THE PERCEPTION OF RETAIL MUTUAL FUND INVESTORS ABOUT MUTUAL FUND INVESTMENT IN THANJAVUR DISTRICT

Abstract


This Mutual fund industry is playing an essential role to provide an alternative avenue to investors in a technical and professional manner. Mutual funds have played a considerable role in the development of capital markets and the growth of the Indian Economy. Though it is comparatively new, it has grown at a vibrant speed, influencing various sectors of the financial market and the national economy. The Indian economy is under transition on account of the ongoing structural adjustment programmes and liberalization.

 

This research examines the perception of individual investors who invest their amount in Mutual Fund of Thanjavur District. The researcher collected data by obtaining direct response from 400 individual investors of Mutual Funds. The researcher collected data by getting direct response from the investors with structured questionnaire and it was analyzed quantitatively with Statistical tools like T- test and Chi-square were used to obtain the results of the study.
