PERFORMANCE EFFICIENCY OF VARIOUS INDIAN STOCK MARKET INDICES – A NON-PARAMETRIC APPROACH

Deepa Venugopal, M.V. Subha

Abstract

This Study would be a singular pursuit to quantify the performance efficiency of various indices traded in Indian Stock market with special reference to those traded in NSE. Most of the Indices based studies end with finding the returns or growth. This research uses DEA tool to identify efficiently performing indices’ for the time of 4 years (2014 – 2018) by adopting CCR – Output model. It would benefit investors by helping them pick nonpareil sectorial indices for investment among those which are traded in National Stock Exchange. This study would be a unique attempt in the efficiency studies as there is a dearth of such studies.
