JOB SATISFACTION AND ORGANIZATIONAL COMMITMENT OF CIVIL PERSONNEL IN NEPAL
Abstract
Civil personnel is a vital group of employees those directly realize the presence of government to the general people through the delivery of government service. Failure of the service delivery to the people leads to the absence of the government. In this sense, civil personnel is also known as permanent government. This study is concentrated on the factors affecting job satisfaction and organizational commitment of civil personnel. The study was based on 221 civil personnel during 2019. Data was generated from the three parts of the questionnaire those included demographic, job satisfaction and organizational commitment section. For descriptive analysis, mean and standard deviation were used and for the inferential analysis Factor analysis, correlation analysis and regression analysis were used. The study showed moderate level of job satisfaction and organizational commitment. Six factors of job satisfaction and three factors of organizational commitment were identified from the study. Positive and moderate degree of correlation was significant at 0.01 level, signifying the relationship between job satisfaction and organizational commitment. Some demographic variables affected while others were independent to the job satisfaction and organizational commitment.
