Abstract

This report describes the case of a 48-year-old hypertensive man, who developed a giant saccular aneurysm of the ascending aorta three month after uncomplicated coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG). The patient underwent Aortic Aneurysm Resection and Dacron Graft Ascending Aortic Replacement was done along with re-CABG. Dissection, Aneurysm, and Rupture of Proximal Aorta following aortic valve replacement and CABG are rare but potentially fatal complications. Preoperative evaluation of risk factors such as aortic diameter, aortic wall characteristics, and associated diseases may decrease complication rate. We recommend to repair Aneurysm of the Ascending Aorta in Deep Hypothermic Circulatory Arrest (DHCA) in order to mininize injury to Aorta during sternal re-entry and its fatal consequences.
