CYBER SECURITY IN CORPORATE COMPETITION - A LEGAL SCENARIO

Abstract


Technology has predominantly spread its wide wings over all the sectors and the corporate sector is of no exemption. With two sides of the coin, the brighter side of cyberspace elevates the corporate sectors while the darker side of cyberattacks erode the developing and developed companies. The dream of acquisition of monopoly in the corporate market leads to the birth and growth of cyberthreats in forms of cryptovirus, phishing, CEO frauds and the list goes on. The corporate sectors are prone to various vulnerabilities of damage of hardware, software and of database for curbing competition which in turn affects the economic development of our Nation. The Information Technology Act,2000 is enacted to provide proper protection against the cyberattacks. This article attempts a little to focus on evaluating and analysing the cybersecurity protection for corporate sectors with the aid and abet of the Information Technology Act,2000 and its Amendment Act,2008.
