BLACK HAT MARKETING: A STRUCTURAL EQUATION MODEL TOWARDS WEBSITE VISIT AND AN APPROACH TOWARDS STRATEGIC MEASURES TO CONTROL BLACK HAT MARKETING IN THE CYBERSPACE

K. Hannah Catherine, Florence John

Abstract

Thousands and thousands of cyber-attacks occur every single day. Crimes committed through computer and network is known as Cyber Crime. Cyber-crime may threaten the security of the people, nation and the financial health. Some hackers steal credit card information or snitch money from online bank accounts. Others immobilize businesses, or even cripple governments Black Hat Marketing is the tactics of the Search Engine Optimisation techniques. Search engines are designed in such a way that the websites are easily brought into the visibility of the online users but when these violate the algorithm of the Google that becomes Black Hat Marketing. The study will bring out an understanding towards the concept black hat marketing and the study will also bring out the problems faced by customers due to black hat marketing and suggest remedial measures to overcome or handle it.
