AN ASSESSMENT OF FACILITIES AVAILABLE TO CHILDREN WITH SPECIAL NEEDS (CWSN) IN GOVERNMENT SCHOOLS UNDER SARVA SHIKSHA ABHIYAN

Abstract


The aim of present study is to explore the facilities available under Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan to Children with Special Needs (CWSN). In order to highlight the factual situation on focused theme, the authors explored the data taken from 260 schools within 13 blocks selected randomly in Jaipur district of Rajasthan state. This survey showed the data about the facilities available to the Children with Special Needs in government schools, from which it is concluded that the situation is not satisfactory except availability of ramps and special training for general teacher to deal the (CWSN). They are badly affected with the scarcity of facilities required for their wholistic development.
