INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY SERVICES OUTSOURCING - RESILIENT PERFORMER OF THE INDIAN IT EXPORTS DURING GLOBAL SLOWDOWN
Abstract
Rapid globalization of the Information Technology (IT) in the recent years focused a great deal of attention on India whose IT industry could mark its stamp in many countries through its IT exports.(3,19,22) As per NASSCOM (2014)(29), the IT Apex body, Indian IT Service Outsourcing has bought USD 200 billion savings for the clients in the last five years during global slowdown. It has also enabled the client with an average increase in business productivity ranging 20-40%. 100% clients gained productivity improvements from India and 80% clients expanded to new geographies due to Indian IT services Outsourcing.(29)
Indian IT Services Outsourcing has made a tremendous effect in the rest of the world and also boosted up the income to India in terms of Indian IT exports revenue. This Research paper analyses the role of IT Service Outsourcing in Indian IT Services Exports during the Global slowdown. World Macro variables & IT related data of 2006 to 2014 is collected to analyze in lieu with the global recessionary trends on macro variables and the major sources of data are from IMF s, UN Stat, RBI, NASSCOM, DeIT MIT Government of India, etc.
